Welcome to wiscocinephile.com!
Sharing a uniquely upper-Midwestern Gen X-er’s take on the magic of Hollywood.
This site is all about the movies, television, music, video games, cartoons, and other things that have captured my imagination.
I’ll be talking about classic movies I love, recommending new films I think you might like, and telling some stories of my youth as a pop culture addict.
About Me

Hi! I’m Adam Friese, a 40-something pop culture enthusiast from Green Bay, Wisconsin. I’ve been into movies and all kinds of music for as long as I can remember.
I am a full time technical college student, pursuing a technical diploma in web design. I’m also taking additional elective courses in graphic design and internet/social media marketing this time around.
I currently possess two associate degrees from NWTC, the first for Microcomputer Specialist, the second for Network Specialist. In addition to these two degrees, I’ve earned a technical diploma in Web Programming and a technical certificate in Python.
About My Site
I am not an entertainment critic, nor do I play one on TV. I am an entertainment enthusiast. This site will feature my views on movies that I think are worth watching, whether they’re well made or poorly made.
Not every review will be an essay. Some posts may be a quick rundown of movies I watched in a week – a brief idea of the premise and what I liked about the film. Others might be a retrospective with lots of personal memories attached.
As this site grows, I plan to add pages showing off my graphic arts skills or focusing on other ventures of mine that I think are cool.
I created this site as an act of open rebellion against the increasingly pervasive amount of spam and negativity I’m seeing on the web lately. I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but Reddit and other open social media forums are full of angry, cynical, snarky wannabe “critics” who spend a lot of time dumping repeatedly on movies they don’t like and trying to bully strangers into admitting their opinions on films and music are somehow “wrong”.
With this in mind, I hope you enjoy your time here. If you like what you see, please drop me a line at wisco.cinephile@wiscocinephile.com – I’d love to hear from you!
